UTSAV — Bhajan Clubbing for a Purpose is not a conventional concert. It is not a satsang. It is not bhajan jamming. And it is not simply another cultural gathering added to the city’s growing lineup of entertainment events.
It is an experience.
Hosted by the New England chapter of Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation, UTSAV is reimagining how devotional music can be felt, celebrated, and shared in today’s world — especially among younger generations searching for deeper connection in increasingly fast-paced times.
At a time when modern entertainment often feels loud yet emotionally empty, UTSAV seeks to create something profoundly different: a space where spirituality meets celebration, where music becomes memory, and where devotion transforms into collective joy.
The gathering invites attendees into a uniquely intimate atmosphere filled with live music, dance, singing, storytelling, and shared energy. Led by local musical ensemble Rangrez, the experience will flow through three devotional journeys dedicated to Ram, Shiv, and Krishna — blending timeless bhajans with contemporary live arrangements designed to move both the heart and the soul.
For many attendees, the experience may feel surprisingly personal.
A melody remembered from childhood.
A bhajan once heard beside grandparents.
A feeling of belonging that modern life often forgets to make space for.
And perhaps that is what makes UTSAV so powerful. Beneath the vibrant atmosphere and immersive musical experience lies something deeply rooted in purpose, culture, memory, and human connection.
🎶 More Than a Concert — An Immersive Experience
According to Executive Director (USA), Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation, Manisha Jain, the inspiration behind the event emerged from a desire to reconnect younger generations with devotional music in a way that feels emotionally relevant and engaging today.
“There has been such an inundation of concerts and entertainment experiences,” she shared. “We wanted to create something immersive that still reconnects people with the bhajans many of us grew up with. For many of us, the first music we ever heard was bhajans.”
Organizers also emphasize an important distinction: UTSAV is not “bhajan jamming” or a traditional kirtan gathering. Instead, it creates what they describe as a clubbing atmosphere centered around bhajans — a high-energy yet spiritually grounded environment where people can sing, dance, participate, and celebrate devotion together in a completely different way.
The event has intentionally been designed to feel intimate and immersive, welcoming approximately 200–250 attendees with a combination of floor seating and chairs to create both comfort and connection. Audience participation will be encouraged throughout the experience, allowing attendees not only to listen, but to become part of the experience itself.
At the center of the musical journey is Rangrez, a local ensemble known for blending devotional expression with vibrant contemporary arrangements. Their performance will unfold in three thematic segments dedicated to Ram, Shiv, and Krishna — creating an emotional progression through devotion, rhythm, and collective celebration.
The gathering will also include special youth recognitions, reflecting Ekal’s continued commitment to encouraging younger generations to stay connected with culture, service, and community values.
Prasadam will also be served during the event through licensed caterers generously supporting the gathering.
🤝 Where Celebration Meets Seva
Yet beyond the music and atmosphere lies a much larger mission.
Every ticket and contribution supports the work of Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation, an organization dedicated to education, literacy, digital learning, women’s empowerment, youth engagement, healthcare awareness, and community development initiatives.
This year holds particular significance for the organization, as Ekal USA celebrates its Silver Jubilee — marking 25 years of impact, service, and educational outreach across communities.
As part of this milestone year, Ekal continues expanding youth-focused initiatives that encourage high school students to travel to villages, spend time within local communities, and gain firsthand understanding of seva, educational access, and human connection beyond their everyday realities.
For Manisha Jain, whose work spans across the United States and India, building those bridges between generations remains one of the organization’s most meaningful goals.
