ABOUT JEYANTHI GHATRAJU
Jeyanthi Ghatraju is a celebrated choreographer, performer, and educator based in Westford, MA, renowned for her commitment to cultural connection and community service. With over 30 years of experience in classical dance, Jeyanthi has been trained by esteemed Gurus Madurai Gopinath, Suryakala, and Vimala Chandrashekhar. Her passion for dance led her to found Natyanjali, an initiative dedicated to bringing dance to underserved communities. Notably, her performances have uplifted seniors in nursing homes, enriching their lives through the joy and grace of Bharatanatyam.
As the Founding Artistic Director of Vision-Aid, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering the visually impaired, Jeyanthi Ghatraju has led the organization’s annual fundraisers for over 16 years. Vision-Aid’s initiatives in India and its Online Academy have transformed the lives of thousands by providing vision rehabilitation and skills training. Jeyanthi's leadership and dedication have made Vision-Aid a beacon of hope and empowerment for individuals with visual challenges.
In her teaching career, Jeyanthi Ghatraju has guided over 25 students through their Arangetrams, helping them make their mark in the classical dance world. Her contribution to arts education has been supported by multiple Massachusetts Cultural Council grants. She also collaborates with the Alagappa Performing Arts Academy, offering enriching online dance programs.
Beyond her artistic pursuits, Jeyanthi Ghatraju has made significant contributions to the defense industry as a Senior Manager. She has been recognized with two U.S. Presidential Service Gold Awards for her outstanding community service. In 2022, she participated in a Guinness World Record-approved workshop, where the largest number of dancers performed a 25-minute choreographed piece online.
