On October 26th, 2024, the auditorium of Littleton High School became a haven of divine heroism and stunning artistry as Vayuputra: The Son of the Wind captivated a packed audience. Presented by AmudhaSri Dance School in collaboration with the legendary Guru Madurai R. Muralidharan and proudly supported by Ascend Jiva Media, this Bharatanatyam production transcended expectations, leaving attendees in awe of its profound beauty and emotional depth.
A Night of Artistic Splendor
The production united over 160 skilled dancers from AmudhaSri Dance School, led by Guru Shrimati Kalaimangai Anbalagan and Guru Madurai R. Muralidharan. Against a backdrop of vibrant sets and dramatic lighting, the meticulously choreographed performance narrated the life of Hanuman, the son of the wind, through intricate dance sequences and evocative music.
From the moment the curtain rose, the audience was transported into Hanuman's journey of heroism and devotion. The dancers conveyed profound emotions with precision and grace, earning a standing ovation at the conclusion of the performance.
A Celebration with Purpose
Beyond its artistic brilliance, the event carried a meaningful cause. Proceeds were donated to People for India (PFI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting underserved communities. The contributions of AmudhaSri Dance School was recognized with Citations from honorable Governor Maura Healey, Massachusetts State Auditor Diana DiZoglio, and Rhode Island Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos. Guru Madurai R. Muralidharan also received citations for his invaluable contributions to the arts. Ascend Jiva Media was also honored for its efforts in fostering higher consciousness, spiritual growth, and cultural enrichment.
In addition, Guru Kalaimangai Anbalagan, Guru Madurai R. Muralidharan, and Aashita Shekhar were presented with the Girls Who Win book by Dr. Manju Sheth, a President of India New England Multimedia and co-founder of the Women Who Win platform. This book celebrates inspiring girls who have made impactful contributions in their fields and serves as a reminder of the power of perseverance, resilience, and self-belief.
