About Robert Lancia
Robert Lancia, a former member of the Rhode Island General Assembly representing District 16 in Cranston (2015–2018), also ran for Congress in 2020. A retired Navy Chaplain and disabled veteran, Mr. Lancia has served in multiple branches of the military, including the Navy, Coast Guard, Marines, and even the Canadian military. Alongside his wife, Maryann, he remains deeply engaged in community service, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to supporting others.

Currently pursuing his fifth degree at Providence College in Secondary Education, Urban Teaching, and Social Studies, Mr. Lancia is focused on developing an initiative aimed at addressing academic challenges for middle schoolers in Providence, with a particular emphasis on empowering Black and Brown students. His dedication to education and mentorship is driven by a desire to help these students overcome obstacles and succeed.

Beyond his academic endeavors, Mr. Lancia is preparing to assume a pastoral role at a Liberian Baptist church in Johnston, Rhode Island, where he is working to revitalize the church and foster community growth. Mr. and Mrs. Lancia are also passionate advocates for the Indian and Indian American communities, maintaining a strong connection with this cause despite facing personal and professional challenges.
